The first pressurised greenhouse has now been assembled at Alpha Base. This green house was held in Alpha 7.
The construction of large pressurised greenhouses will be essential to the sustainability of the base, but this first greenhouse is really an experimental model, designed to see if techniques developed on Earth will work in the Martian environment.
Conditions in the greenhouse will be good for the plants that are grown, but not suitable for human beings so the team will need to wear suits and/or masks while working here.
